The
mission of the Boone County Related Agencies Association (BCRAA)
is to enhance human services in and around Boone County by
providing opportunitie s for networking, collaboration and
professional development.

Since
the 1960s, Boone County Related Agencies Association (BCRAA) has
provided an excellent opportunity for agencies and individuals in
the field of human services to networ k and collaborate. Members
represent a broad and diverse range of professional positions and
areas of focus. Individuals and agencies benefit from what
BCRAA has to offer in a number of ways.

BCRAA
brings human service providers together monthly so they can
exchange program information, provide updates, and publicize
services.

BCRAA
offers a variety of opportunities for professional development
through committee participation, as well as educational programs
and workshops and pertinent and time ly issues.

In
addition, BCRAA enables members to network and share information
through special activities outside of monthly meetings.
Meetings
BCRAA meetings
are held the first or second Tuesday of every month from 12:00 to
1:00pm. The meetings include time to network, a business meeting,
and a specific focus for the day, such as a presentation from selected
local social service organizations.

Tuesday, August 12, 2008 at the Columbia Public Library,
in the Virginia Young Room, 12:00 noon-1:00 p.m.
The August program will featureVA Hospital's housing and
homeless program.

Membership
The
BCRAA membership year runs from June 1 through May 31. Annual dues
entitles you to receive a member packet, directory listing, workshop
discounts, voting privileges, and monthly e-mail newsletter.
(Note:
as of June 2008, the organization is meeting informally and is not
collecting dues at this time.)
There are two types of membership. Individuals can join, as well
as multiple representatives of an organization that provides human
services.
